Ed Delia's Biography

Born and raised in Hunterdon County, Ed Delia grew up in the dynamic and challenging world of advertising. From the age of 15, he spent his spare time at Delia Associates under the watchful eye of his father, Michael Delia, and over the years became actively engaged in all aspects of the agency’s activities. He became thoroughly experienced and proficient with the creative, account management, logistics, finance, operations, and new business development facets of the business. He was named president of Delia Associates in 1998, assuming full control of the company founded by his father in 1964.

Under Ed’s direction, Delia Associates has directly contributed to the success and growth of a wide variety of clients, from large international corporations to local retailers. The agency has helped grow many businesses and expand their sales opportunities through the development and implementation of highly successful branding campaigns. Delia Associates is known for its creativeness and ingenuity, receiving numerous professional awards and industry commendations.

Ed Delia launched a proprietary brand development system targeted to small and mid-size companies. The system takes customers through a detailed process that results in the development of a unique brand identity. This innovative and self-contained system was introduced in September 2003.

In 2006, Ed launched "Pay-As-You-Grow," a financing option for clients who want to invest in marketing/branding but who lack the immediate cash flow needed.

Beyond the demands of a growing brand development firm, Ed is committed to the welfare of the local business community and donates a significant portion of his energies to the healthy economic development of Somerset and Hunterdon counties. He maintains steady and active involvement with organizations focused on the growth of regional business as well as personal development programs. He is a member of the Somerset Business Partnership, as well as the Hunterdon Chamber of Commerce.

Ed served as a board member of the YMCA of Hunterdon County, and was Chairperson of the PR/Marketing Committee. He is active with the Hunterdon County Polytech Academy and has served on the School’s Advisory Committee for the past four years.

He is also an active member of the New Jersey Chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), and currently serves on the Board of Directors as President. He was Membership Chair for the organization the prior year.

Over the past several years, Delia Associates has provided pro-bono services to The Center for Great Expectations, a non-profit residential facility for homeless, pregnant women.

The agency is also an avid supporter of Mothers of Military Support (M.O.M.S.), an organization dedicated to supporting families of military personnel serving abroad. Through pridecountry.com, an e-commerce apparel website formed by Ed Delia, Delia Associates contributes $2 from every purchase to M.O.M.S.

Ed was a founding member of Hunterdon Young Professionals & Executives (HYPE) in addition to the Flemington Chapter of Business Networking International (BNI). He also served as a board member of the Somerset Business Education Partnership and on the marketing committee for the Hunterdon Economic Partnership (HEP).

In 2006, Ed was selected by NJBIZ Magazine as one of the top "Forty Under 40" up-and-coming business leaders in New Jersey. Also in 2006, he was honored by the Somerset Business Partnership as Outstanding Business Person for the small business category.

Ed attended elementary and high school in Hunterdon County, attending North Hunterdon Regional High School and later graduating from the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, NJ. He earned his BA in English from Dickinson College.

Ed is a frequent speaker on branding, marketing, e-commerce and creative thinking.

Ed is an avid freshwater fisherman in the summers, and snowboards in the winter months. He resides in Basking Ridge, NJ with his wife Lori and their 2 year-old twins.
